MOUNT SNOW GOLF CLUB

The Mount Snow Golf Course has matured into one of Vermont’s premier mountain courses and has been rated one of the top five in the state by Golf Digest. Designed by New England course architect Geoffrey Cornish, our 18-hole championship course has also been named one of the top 10 resort courses in the country by SKI Magazine.

The course meanders through spectacular Vermont countryside and provides stunning views of the Green Mountains, including the peaks of Mount Snow and Haystack. Picture tamaracks, oaks, birches and sugar maples lining fairways while the mountains provide a majestic backdrop. The front nine is spread over scenic expanses and the back nine winds its way through wooded terrain. Water comes into play on 11 holes and 41 sand traps are strategically located around nearly every hole. The course sits 2,000 feet above sea level.

The Original Golf School is one of the country’s first golf schools. Our team of award winning pros have helped more than 85,000 golfers of all abilities improve their games.

Mount Snow Golf Club, which has been home to The Original Golf School since the school was founded in 1978, has been rated one of the top five courses in Vermont by Golf Digest. It’s a 6,894-yard, par 72 championship beauty designed by renowned New England course architect, Geoffrey Cornish.

The Mount Snow area is filled with historic towns, antique shops, artisans, craft producers, farms open to visitation, performing arts venues and outlet shopping centers. Extend your vacation with a few days of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, learn fly fishing, or go canoeing, sailing and kayaking on any of the numerous pristine rivers and lakes.

MOUNT SNOW MOUNTAIN BIKING

Mountain Biking at Mount Snow opens up Memorial Day Weekend – May 29th. Check the chart below for detailed lift operations.

Zoom with a view here at Mount Snow, where we have over 35 miles of mountain bike terrain consisting of single-track, old town roads and ski trails.

Just how good is the riding? Good enough to have hosted over 20 National Mountain Bike Series events and a number of World Cups as well. Ride our chairlift on the Canyon Express quad and let gravity do its thing as you descend portions of our serpentine downhill and cross-country courses. ATTENTION: LIFT-ACCESSED TRAILS ARE FOR ADVANCED RIDERS ONLY!

The Main Base Area is the hub for mountain bike operations and services. The Crosstown area, located 1 1/2 miles from the Mount Snow Base area, provides the family or new rider with a comfortable introduction to the sport. The terrain difficulty includes 15% beginner, 50% intermediate and 35% advanced. This year look for a new pump track in the Main Base Area and look also for some additional trails to open up as the summer progresses.

Please note: During the East Coast Cup DH Series there may be some trail closings and longer lift lines. There will be no mountain bike lift services during the Vermont Blues Festival – August 27-29, 2010.

ABOUT MOUNT SNOW SKI & SNOWBOARD RESORT

Mount Snow offers a "back to base" trail system that allows families with skiers and riders of varying ability levels to easily meet up at the end of the day. Our Main Face offers some of the best "cruiser" trails in the Northeast, and two beginner level runs that span 3 miles of terrain. Our North Face is primarily for advanced skiers, featuring great tree-skiing and Ripcord -- one of New England's steepest runs.

Mount Snow remains Vermont's closest big mountain resort for major metropolitan areas including Boston, New York City, the tri-state region, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C. It is a four-season destination resort with activities that cater to families and singles, including great cuisine, a full-service spa, special children and family activities, ski school, mountain biking, hiking, childcare and a championship caliber 18-hoe golf course.

Fan Guns Make it Happen:
Over $5 million dollars were spent in 2008 to install over 150 new fan guns. This is in addition to the $3.5 million spent on fan guns in 2007. The 2009-10 season will provide guests at Mount Snow with over 250 fan guns, the most new-technology fan guns on the entire continent of North America. No Joke!

Rental Equipment:
The Mount Snow equipment Rental Shops offer an extensive product selection and inventory, conveniently located in the Clocktower Rental Shop and at the Sundance Base Lodge. We feature skis from Rossignol, ski boots by Dalbello and Tecnica, as well as snowboards and boots from Rossignol. This extensive state of the art product mix offers the snow sport participant of all skill levels a match to the fit, comfort, and performance level he or she needs.

Carinthia comes to life:
A smorgasbord of rails, jumps and halfpipes cover nearly five miles of terrain at Carinthia. A snowskate playground, hikable park, beginners' learning park and a skate ramp surround the base area, while the base lodge itself has been renovated and outfitted with lounge areas, an extended outdoor deck with ample seating, counter seating along the windows, free wireless internet, flat screen televisions and outdoor fire pits.

A high-speed quad and a double chairlift shuttle skiers and riders up the hill, where they can choose from a variety of approximately 125 freestyle features scattered around 12 full terrain parks. A tree-skiing area, a superpipe with 18-foot walls, a mini-pipe with 8-foot walls, an all-natural park absent of manmade material and a big-air site will also be featured.
